I remember his funeral service at the Presbyterian church. I was in the 5th grade at the time. The church was packed with friends and family. <br /> <br />Grandpa's body was in the casket at their home for several days before the funeral. People came and visited at the home and the family were able to slip in and out of the parlor to say their goodbye's, during the day or night. I remember my mom taking me in to say goodbye. It left a pretty powerful impression on my life.<br /><br />Grandpa loved people and was a very social person.
